Gong Named a Cool Vendor in CRM Sales by Gartner

Gong recognized as innovative and impactful for its Sales Conversation Intelligence technology

Palo Alto, Calif. and Tel Aviv, Israel (May 4th 2017) —, a SaaS company pioneering the B2B Sales Conversation Intelligence field, today announced that it was selected by Gartner as a Cool Vendor in CRM Sales, 2017*., the trailblazers behind the emerging new field of conversation intelligence, is utilizing artificial intelligence to dramatically change the way sales people conduct calls. Through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology to recognize patterns, Gong enables sales and marketing teams to analyze strengths, areas of improvement, and challenges that arise during sales calls to improve the team’s sales tactics and close more deals.

“The mainstreaming of artificial intelligence for sales is important, because it represents a degree of sales process transformation not experienced in the SFA market since the creation of SaaS SFA systems in the late 1990s.” Gartner analysts Tad Travis and Ilona Hansen wrote in the Cool Vendors CRM Sales, 2017 Report. “To help organizations improve sales execution and exceed business objectives, application leaders should plan for the next wave of automation that will include predictive analytics and cognitive agents.”

“We are honored and excited to be recognized by Gartner. We are committed to our work pioneering the field of conversation intelligence and empowering sales representatives,” said Amit Bendov, CEO. “Our goal at Gong is to help businesses improve their sales performance – and compete in their markets. With state-of-the-art voice analytics, we are enabling companies to improve their conversations with clients, which means better communication, better buyer experience, and more sales.”

Amit Bendov and Eilon Reshef co-founded Gong in 2015 after they noticed, while managing some of the most successful hyper-growth startups, that there was a big gap in the market. B2B buyers, they realized, rate their direct conversations with the sales team as the most significant factor influencing their buying decisions. Yet, these sales conversations are nuanced, complex, and hard to master. This communication challenge often leads to a frustrating buyer experience and lost sales.

For sales teams and their managers, it’s a guessing game to understand what went wrong on the way to closing the deal: Are we presenting properly? Are we being good listeners? What do our buyers say about our competitors? What are the top objections? How do our customers react to our pricing? Gong is changing this.

“Gong’s technology is the most significant invention for sales since the invention of CRM,” said Bendov. “Trillions of marketing dollars have been poured into reaching, nurturing, and contacting leads. But 80% of those hard-earned leads are lost after the first few phone conversations with a sales person. Gong solves that problem, pioneering a new category of solutions.”
